Leake St. Tunnels

Beneath Waterloo Station on London’s South Bank lies a series of tunnels which have become a little-known graffiti destination. After being christened by Banksy’s “Cans” film festival in 2008, the tunnels turned into an authorized graffiti area where anyone can take to the walls without fear of legal repercussion. The area stands as a prime example of London’s commitment to public art, and might even be responsible for England’s recent decline in rates of vandalism.
